MIFSE is also affiliated to some of the leading universities in India which have been accredited with grade by the National Assessment Accreditation Council. Such universities include Mangalore University, a centenary old University of Mysore and also Karnataka State Open University. These universities have provided MIFSE an opportunity to impart quality education in Fire and Safety, Fire and Industrial Safety, Health Safety and Environment, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas Safety and also various functionaries of safety and management stream. MIFSE is also a certified institution of ISO 9001:2015 since 2010. Minerva Educational & Charitable Trust has authorized the MIFSE to impart quality education through its network branches. In 2007, MIFSE had just one branch in Mangalore. In 2015, number of branches has been increased to 12 and branches are located in Bangalore- Malleshwaram and Banshankari, Udupi, Shimoga, Davangere, Hubli, Belgam, Hospet, Tumkur, Mysore. MIFSE has its Headquarters at Mangalore and Corporate Office is located at Mumbai- Thane (W).
MIFSE is a pioneer institute of Fire and Safety Education in India. As civilization grows, various activities are prone to disasters. It may be noted that even prime places in the country and the world were set ablaze, Parliament in New Delhi, Secretariat Building in Mumbai, Carlton Towers in Bangalore, AMJ Hospital in Kolkata, Bhrahth Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, etc had the problem of fire accidents. Accidents and incidents are either deliberate or due to the technical flaw. Whatever be the reason, the result is dreadful, costing precious life, besides perishing property worth of crores of rupees and also destroying evidence.
All type of accidents and incidents are to be addressed through excellent knowledge, skill and attitude by way of quality education. MIFSE was established in March 2007 to deliver this very result.
Head office at Shalimar complex, Kankanady, Mangalore is a non-profit, charitable trust registered to impart quality. education and conduct various charitable works. This trust is running under the able guidance of philanthropists and successful businessmen from Mangalore. The main aim behind the formation of the trust is to sponsor technical institutes which would give quality education to students and make them eligible for a job at the end of their studies. As a first step for achieving this aim, the Minerva Educational and Charitable Trust started a Technical Institute in the field of Fire and Safety Engineering called Mangalore Institute of Fire And Safety Engineering.

Internship is a free on site job training given to a student by an organization. This will help students to get real knowledge about the subject which they have already studied. At the end of the internship all students should prepare a report on their internship and submit it to the institution. Theory provides the basis of knowledge but incorporating practical skills will help students to learn better, understand the work condition and finally gain employment. 10 days of practical training will be given to each student at Mangalore. This practicals will start from January 2018. Practical training is the combination of theoretical knowledge and applying it in the real world.
All students will get separate login Id’s and passwords. Using these unique passwords students can log on to www.mifse.com and read online text books chapter by chapter and supplementary course materials. For better understanding explanatory videos also available. Finally they can attempt practice tests which will give instant results with right answers. Once they qualify in this test next chapter will open for reading. They can also submit the assignments online.
